Officer's Report
Pres. Berube reported that a new coke machine was installed a couple of weeks ago and again
he would like to thank Mike Keup for the help in providing him with the contacts to make this happen.
This past Saturday, June 4th we had our building for the recall pen and storage delivered and set in
place. Many thanks goes out to Tony Brookhouse and his crew from Koopmans, not only did he save us
quite a bit of money in rigging and transportation of a building that size, by donating the equipment and
the crew to undertake such a huge task, he also demonstrated the kind of commitment he has as a
member of our Club to complete tasks like this for the good of all of us and the future generations of
our Club Members. Thank you Tony!!! He would also like to thank Gordon DeJong and Mike DiLibero for
helping him land the building and Dick Baker for all his help he has given him and working with him from
day one on this project. If he has missed anyone else he does apologize, but in closing he would also like
to extend his heartfelt thanks to his stepson Craig and his wife Tina Giguere for the donation of the building
to the Club. That in itself was an incredible boost to our project. Thanks Craig and Tina.
Archery
Mike DiLibero reported for Jack Briggs. He reported that they had cleared the range, but there’s still
more to do. He would like to start a league 1 or 2 nights a week and a have a dinner at the end of the
season.
Fish
Pres. Berube reported that the pond was stocked on Saturday, April 30th and reopened on Saturday,
May 7th at 8:00AM with the “Children’s Fishing Derby,” which ran from 8:00AM until 10:30AM, with prizes and
trophies awarded in the 3 age categories after the derby. A grab was provided for all the Jr. Members as they
signed up for the derby. This year we had 56 Jr. Members attend. We changed the age brackets around to
make the groups a bit more evenly disbursed by age especially in the older age group as it seems to thin out as
they get older. The age groups were 4-7, 8-12, and 13-18 rather than 4-8, 9-14, and 15-18. This seemed to
work out much better for all the participants!! The winners of the Derby are as follows: 1st Fish caught-John
Lesach; Smallest Trout caught-Hattie Tauson; 4-7 year olds: 1st place-Mathew Alves; 2nd place-Owen Horbath;
and 3rd place-Aden Horbath; 8-12 year olds: 1st place-Erin Kossuth; 2nd place-Evan Lancaster; and 3rd place-Mario
Leonardo; and 13-18 year olds: 1st place-John Kossuth; 2nd place-Robert Lancaster; and 3rd place-Sabrina Eisner.
He would like to extend his thanks for the help in making this derby a fantastic event that it is for our children. Thanks
to my co-chair in the fish program Durk Lawson, Brett Graham, Paul Soares, Bob Miller, Hoss Wiersma, Gerald Leclair,
Pat Connors, Ken Moore who showed up to help with the derby but somehow got kidnapped by Willie into the
kitchen, and as always a big thanks to Karen Briggs who is without a doubt a big part of our Club in her continuing
support especially of our fishing program over the years. He thanked Willie, Ron, and their crew in the great job
they did in cooking us a fantastic breakfast and opening up early so we could take advantage of it. Thanks guys,
as usual you out did yourselves!!!
