Meeting Minutes

MARCH 7, 2011

Pres. DiLibero called the meeting to order at 7:00PM.

Paul Soares lead the Club in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Pres. DiLibero thanked all who have supported him this past year. He asked that you give Gary the same respect and support you have given him in the past year.

Chris Britt cast one vote for the following Officers: Gary Berube-President, Paul Soares-Vice President, Christine Britt-Secretary, and Jerome Jussaume-Treasurer. Unanimous vote.

Secretary's Report
Chris Britt read the Secretary's report. Bill Wurzburg made a motion to accept; Gordon DeJong seconded.

Treasurer’s Report
Jerome Jussaume read the Treasurer’s report. Bill Wurzburg made a motion to accept; Gordon DeJong seconded.

Correspondence
Chris Britt read a thank you note from Samantha Bedard to Ed Pokornicki and the Club for a Safety Course she had taken.

Committee Report
There were no reports from Audit, Board of Advisors, BMP, Newsletter, Pistol, WCL, Website, and Work Hours.

Officers
Paul Soares reported that he and John Quinn put up 2 more duck boxes. There are now 8 boxes.

Pres. Berube reported as the presiding Officer, according to Roberts Rules going forward things on the standard meeting agenda, will remain the same. Anything in regards to new business shall be given to the presiding Officer in writing at least one week before the meeting to prepare for the issue and its resolution!!

Archery
Jack Briggs reported that the snow is finally melting and winter has left quite a bit of debris on the 2D course. When the weather breaks, repairs to the 2D course will resume with replacement foam and targets put up. It would be appreciated if paper targets not be left on the butts when finished please take them with you.

Fish
Gary Berube reported that Ed Pokornicki, Don Manseau, and himself let some of the water out of the pond since the water was rising. The tentative stocking schedule is as follows for 2011 season: Saturday, March 26th, 9:00AM and will reopen Saturday, April 2nd at 7:00AM; Saturday, April 30th, 9:00AM and will reopen Saturday, May 7th at 7:00AM; Jr. Members Trout Derby will be held May 7th from 8:00AM to 10:30AM; and Saturday, September 17th, 9:00AM and reopen Saturday, September 24th, at 7:00AM. All dates may be subject to change, depending on the schedule for weeding of the pond or any maintenance being done on the dam. Check your newsletter for dates and changes.

Forestry
Gordon DeJong reported a few members would like to make a few small fields. He needs to get in contact with the Forestry to see if they can go ahead and do this.

Game
Mike DiLibero reported that the committee is raffling off a muzzleloader. Anyone interested please see a committee member to buy tickets.

Land and Pond
Dick Baker gave an updated report.

Trap
Greg Pellegrini reported due to the snow they haven’t had any shoots. Hopefully in a few weeks they will be able to start up again.

Rifle
Mike DiLibero reported that the 11th Annual Enfield Shoot will be held Saturday, June 11th, 2011 here at the Club starting at 10:00AM. The first event will cost $10.00, 2nd and 3rd event will cost $5.00 each. Event: British Lee Enfield 303 Caliber, NO MODIFICATIONS; 2nd Event: Any Military Rifle open sites only; and 3rd Event: Open class any rifle open-sites or optics. Cash prizes will be awarded.

Ground and Maintenance
Ken Marcotte reported that they would be holding a work party in the beginning of April.

Kitchen
Wil Huber reported that there’s nothing new coming up but cleaning to do.

Membership
Gary Berube reported that Membership Renewals were held the four Sundays in February, 1 to 5PM and Wednesday, February 23rd from 6 to 8PM. The response that he has received for his request for help in running the program during the renewal period was not only overwhelming but it was just plain awesome. Many thanks goes out to Ray Maloney, Jr., Gisel Cote, Ed Pokornicki, Alison Burnham, Ed Gervais, Jim Corcoran, Rich TeTreault, Jon Quinn, Paul Soares, Joe Leonardo, Eric Bilodeau, and Mike Perks. The help that he received from these people not only made the process go easier it was the most efficient and trouble free renewal period that he has ever been apart of. Also he added that from this group going forward they have established a new Membership Committee! He would also like to congratulate the following members for attaining Life Membership in the Club: Gordon DeJong, Jerome Jussaume, Raymond Mowgeon, and Gerald McClure. As it stands at this point the Club has 28 openings for membership. The result of 8 Probationary Members not meeting their requirements to the Club in 2010; 4 Members attaining Life Membership; and 16 Members not renewing. The induction of new members will be on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 1:00PM. We currently have 3 Auxiliary Members and 2 Jr. Members going up into probationary membership status for 2011, which means I’ll be going to the list to fill the remaining 23 openings. To end he would like to recognize Durk Lawson and the contribution that he has made as the person in charge of keeping track of the work hours in the Club. To say that it is a lot of work is an understatement and he really appreciates all Durk has done for the Club in the last few years in his capacity as Work Hours Chairman and going forward to work this function into the Membership Committee to help with it.

Club House
Steve Bedard reported that he hasn’t been able to get up there lately but he will be going there shortly.

History
Mark Kuras reported that he is working on putting names with the pictures. He would like to get together with Ken to go through them.

Old Business
Ed Pokornicki gave an updated report on the Hunter Safety Courses being held in Mass. and how they’re all filled up.

Gary Berube made a motion to make an addendum to Article #3 Membership under Auxiliary Members, to read that all Auxiliary Members as of this date would be grand-fathered under the Article as it was passed on February 1st, 2010, but going forward from March 1st, 2011 on anyone becoming an Auxiliary Member be the members spouse or significant other only. This would have no effect on any other provisions of the article meaning Juniors as it is written. Dick Baker made the motion to accept; Bob Brooks seconded. One opposed.

Pres. Berube read the members that were nominated this year for Board of Advisors: Lenny Audette, Tom Binkiewicz, Bill Wurzburg, Ed Pokornicki, Harry Romasco, Jerry McClure, Ken Morrissette, and Mike DiLibero.

Bill Wurzburg made a motion to adjourn at 7:39pm; Bob Brooks seconded.
