Pres. Berube called the meeting to order at 7:01PM.
Bob Brooks lead the Club in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary's Report
Chris Britt read the Secretary's report. Gordon DeJong made a motion to accept; Joe Leonardo
seconded.
Treasurer’s Report
Jerome Jussaume read the Treasurer's report. Ed Pokornicki made a motion to accept;
Gordon DeJong seconded.
Committee Report
There were no reports from Archery, Audit, BMP, Board of Advisors, Club House, Forestry,
History, Kitchen, Newsletter, Officers, WCL, Work Hours, and Websiite.
Fish
Pres. Berube reported that the tentative stocking of the pond would be on October 22nd at 1PM.
The pond will be closed till October 29th at 6AM, at that time it will be open again to the membership
for fishing. Any changes to this will be posted in advance on the chalkboards at the open/closed sign on
the tree at the entrance of the road and at the Club House.
Game
Brian Stevens reported on the porketta that was held in August. The first hunt will take place this
Saturday. Anyone who would like to help out, please see him.
Pistol
John Ayvazian reported that they had a great season. He thanked Gerry Bacon.
Land and Pond
Pres. Berube gave an updated report.
Trap
Dario DePasquale reported that the summer schedule is over. The trap range will not be open on
Thursday nights till spring. As always the trap range will open on Sundays at 10AM to the public, weather
permitting. Everyone is welcome so join us for a good shooting time.
Rifle
Ray Moloney, Sr. reported that he had to replace another backstop. He will be away for about 6 weeks,
if someone can keep an eye on the grounds. Thanks.
Grounds and Maintenance
Rich Sullivan reported that they have weed whacked around the sheds. He would like to trim some brush
around the edges of the pond while the water is down. If anyone wants to help, please let him know.
Membership
Pres. Berube reported that the updated probationary attendance/work hour/waiting lists
are posted in the glass cabinet. If your hours don’t match what has been posted, remember to
keep your slips and check with the chairperson who signed it for you to make sure they reported
your time to get your credit for all hours worked!! Also there are still ways for the probationary
members that need work hours to get them in with the chairpeople.
Old Business
Jerome Jussaume reported that the Youth Pheasant Education Program was held on September 17th.
This was open to boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17. Fourteen youths attended this program
this year. They went over gun safety, bird dog demonstration, hunting clothing, game cooking, trap
shooting practice, controlled hunt, care of harvested game, and mementos. The kitchen put on a pheasant
lunch for them. Thanks goes to Ed Pokornicki for the gun safety and donations of the knit caps; Brett
Graham for the bird dog demonstration and controlled hunt; Wilhelm Huber for preparing and serving them
lemon, herb, and garlic pheasant breasts with salad; Ron Branco and Jon Quinn for trap shooting instruction;
Mike DiLibero for controlled hunt; Ralph True for the newspaper coverage; and Jim Eisner, Dave Gray, and
Jim Watkins for the interested parents and general help.
New Business
Monte Cupehart reported that he would like to donate 4 to 10 benches to the Club. Jerome Jussaume
moved to accept his donation of benches; Ed Pokornicki seconded. Unanimous.
Dario DePasquale made a motion to appropriate up to $1800.00 to purchase clays; Jack Briggs seconded.
Unanimous.
Jack Briggs made a motion to appropriate up to $75.00 to buy crossbow targets; Dario DePasquale
seconded. Unanimous.
Rino Grassi reported that he has a freezer to donate to the Club. Bob Brooks made a motion to accept the
donation of the freezer; Ed Pokornicki seconded. Unanimous.
Larry Wiersma reported that he has a stainless steel sink to donate to the Club. Jerome Jussaume made a
motion to accept the donation of the stainless steel sink; Paul Soares seconded. Unanimous.
Jerome Jussaume moved to amend Article 8, Section 1 of the By-laws by adding:
E. STABILIZATION FUND
A fund designed to insure the long-term financial viability of the Club, accumulate amounts for capital projects, land
acquisitions, and future spending purposes. Funds may be transferred into and out of the stabilization fund by
a two-thirds vote of the members authorized to vote at general or special meetings, after notice of the intent to
transfer is made by motion at a previous general meeting. The amounts of the transfers into the stabilization fund
are limited by the amount of funds not otherwise encumbered in the other funds of the Club. The amounts of
the transfers out of the stabilization fund are limited by amount in the stabilization fund. The stabilization fund may
accumulate investment income that will be added to the fund balance for future transfers. The fund is not limited
or otherwise bound by the provisions of Article 5, Section 4; Ed Pokornicki seconded. Unanimous. This will be
voted at the November meeting.
Pres. Berube made a motion to appropriate $1,000.00 for materials to be used to fix the gas pipes under the pavilion;
Paul Soares seconded. Unanimous.
Pres. Berube announced that the Children's Christmas Party would be held on Sunday, December 11th at 1PM. We
are looking for people to help out with the Christmas shopping and food shopping. Anyone interested please see
him or Chris Britt. We're also looking for new entertainment this year, if anyone knows of someone let us know.
Bob Brooks made a motion to adjourn at 7:56pm; Roy Underwood seconded.
