Meeting Minutes

APRIL 7, 2008

President Berube called the meeting to order at 7:00PM

Pres. Berube asked for a moment of silence for an avid NRA member, Charlton Heston who had passed away.

Secretary’s Report
Chris Britt read the Secretary’s report. Bill Wurzburg made a motion to accept; Lenny Audette seconded.

Treasurer’s Report
Jerome Jussaume read the Treasurer’s report. Lenny Audette made a motion to accept; Bob Brooks seconded.

Committee Report
There were no reports from Archery, Audit, BMP, Land Acquisition, Pistol, and Pond

Board of Advisors
Lenny Audette reported that they held a meeting on Thursday, April 3rd to vote for chair and vice-chairpersons. Lenny Audette was re-elected as Chairperson and Tom Bienkiewicz was voted for Vice-Chairperson. All members were present to vote.

Archery
A Traditional Bow of New England (traditional only) will be held July 19th and 20th. The Safari League Shoot will be July 27th. Kids shoot for free.

Fish
Ken Mercer reported that their next stocking of the pond would be Wednesday, April 9th at 10:00AM. Pond will close and re-open on Saturday, April 12th at 8:00AM.

Reminder: Jr. Members Trout Derby is on May 10th. Sign-up will be at the Trap House from 7:00AM-8:00AM. The stocking for the Derby will be on Saturday, May 3rd at 10:00AM, so bring the kids and let them see the fish they’ll be fishing for. The kids always enjoy this. There will be cash prizes for the winners and a grab bag for all contestants. Coloring books and crayons will be handed out for the toddlers. Rules are posted.

Some beautiful trout have been taken from our previous stockings, so get out and wet a line.

Forestry
Gordon DeJong reported that there's about 5 cords of wood left to be cut.

Game
Jerome Jussaume reported that Roy Underwood handed in his resignation for this committee. He is appreciated for all the years of service he has done and contributed to the Pheasant Committee, such as stocking, boxing, and feeding.

Pistol
John Ayvazian reported that there would be a work party held this Saturday. A schedule of shoots as follows:

Trap
Dario DePasquale reported that the range would be opening this Sunday, at 1:00PM. Anyone that would like to participate please see him.

Rifle
Pres. Berube reported for Ray Moloney, Jr. that a work party will be held April 12th at 9:00AM. The range is in need of 39X39 cardboard for targets.

Ground and Maintenance
Tom Huber reported that a work party would be held on April 19th for a spring clean up.

Kitchen
Ray DeMore reported that they would be serving breakfast for the Jr. Members Fishing Derby on May 10th, starting at 6:00AM. He will need help. Thanks goes to Roger Bibeault for making the plaque up for the members that have passed. The coke machine is fix.

Membership
Pres. Berube reported that the new Probationary attendance, work hour, and waiting list are posted in the glass cabinet. This will be his last report as Membership Chairman; Mike Perks will be taking over his duties as of this meeting. After this month, Mike and Durk will have the hours up to speed and will be posted monthly.

Newsletter
Pres. Berube reported that after this month if Probationary Members are not receiving the “Outdoors Man” check with Mike to make sure that we have your address listed correctly.

Work Hours

Durk Lawson reported that Probationary Members would need to get 20 hours completed by the end of probation period. Also, don’t forget to fill out your work slips and pass them in.

WCL
Ralph True gave an updated report.

Website
David St. Martin reported that the minutes and announcements have been updated on the website to date.

Old Business
Pres. Berube thanked Rob Knapik, Harry Romasco, and Jerome Jussaume for all their efforts in getting this piece of land.

Ed Pokornicki reported that on numerous occasions the gate has been left unlocked when there is no member on the grounds. Please remember to lock the gate.

New Business
Jerome Jussaume made a recommendation to transfer money from the General Funds to the Operational Funds for this coming year; Ed Pokornicki seconded. Unanimous.


Ed Pokornicki thanked the Club for letting him run his Hunting Safety Course on March 13th. Forty-one people completed the course.

Bob Brooks made a motion; Lenny Audette seconded and passed to adjourn the meeting at 7:55PM.
