Archery

Fish
Ken Mercer reported that the importation and stocking permits have been sent into DEM for calendar year 2008. On January 5th, we tested the ice and found 10” of safe ice. There is 6 feet of water under the ice. Thanks to Ray DeMore for the use of his ice auger. I determined that there was enough water to support a stocking of trout. Gilbert Trout Hatchery will be making a stocking on January 16th at 10:00AM (Wednesday). The pond will be closed and will re-open on January 19th (Saturday) at 7:00AM. Ladders have been placed out, one at the beach and the other near the oak tree by the Trap House. Fisherman, please use common sense when trusting the safety of ice. There will be a Fish Committee meeting this month to schedule this year stockings. We hope to have all the dates for you when membership renewal is here. Reminder: Membership button must be displayed while fishing.
Forestry
Gordon DeJong reported that they sold about 59 cords of wood so far.
Game
Jerome Jussaume reported that the stocking program had an extended season. It will finish up this weekend. No Button Hunt Program will be held. The grounds are available for private hunts until March. You just need to supply your own birds. Please contact Dick Baker or Jerome if you would like to set one up. A game supper will be held the 3rd Saturday in January. Tickets are $XX.XX and will be available from the Pheasant Committee.
Rifle
Ray Moloney reported that the backstops are out now.
Kitchen
Ray DeMore wants to thank everyone that helped him out in the kitchen and the people that showed up to eat during the pheasant hunting.
Membership
Pres. Berube reported that the probationary members’ work hours and meetings have been updated and posted in the cabinet. It looks like 7 out of 39 probationary members will not be making it. Out of that 2 need 1 more meeting.
Newsletter
Pres. Berube reported that a few newspapers have been returned again. They are different from the last month. Addresses have again been updated. If you’re not getting yours, check with your Post Office to ensure that your address is correct and that they’re not returning them for something as simple as a wrong street spelling or something else. Some of the postmasters are picky.
Old Business
Pres. Berube reported on the low temp alarms. He was quoted a price of $XX.XX for the service call and $XX.XXa unit, for a total cost ~$XXX.XX to set it up.
