President Berube
called the meeting to order at 7:01PM
Pres. Berube asked for a moment of silence for Charles Stand who had
passed away.
Pres. Berube asked for one person to cast a vote for the following
Officers: President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Joe Vecchione cast a
vote; Bob Brooks seconded.
Pres. Berube asked for one person to cast a vote for the following
Board of Advisors: Lenny Audette, Ken Mercer, Bill Wurzburg, Bob
Heywood, Gordon DeJong, Ken Morrissette, Tom Binkiewicz, and Jerry
McClure. John Baca cast a vote; George Hamm seconded.
The ballots were passed out for Vice President: Tom Huber and Paul
Soares. Bob Brooks and George Hamm counted the ballots:
21 for Tom Huber
19 for Paul Soares
Tom Huber is Vice President.
Secretary’s Report
Chris Britt read the Secretary’s report. Paul Soares made a motion
to accept; Bob Brooks seconded.
Treasurer’s Report
Jerome Jussaume read the Treasurer’s report. Bob Brooks made a
motion to accept; Roy Underwood seconded.
Committee Report
There were no reports from Archery, Audit, BMP, Board of Advisors,
Club House, Forestry, Ground and Maintenance, Land Acquisition,
Pistol, Pond, Trap, WCL, Website, and Work Hours.
Archery
A Traditional Bow of New England (traditional only) will be held
July 19th and 20th. The Safari League Shoot will be July 27th. Kids
shoot for free.
Fish
Chris Britt read the report for Ken Mercer. The 2008 Trout Stocking
Schedule has been distributed during membership renewal on Sundays.
Each member should have received one. Our next stocking of trout
will be on March 19th (Wednesday), delivered by Gilbert Hatchery.
The pond will be closed and re-opened on Saturday, March 22nd at
7:00AM.
Bait fish to be reintroduced to our pond during this spring in hopes
of having a year round forage fish for trout stocked.
There is a new pond rule:
Rule #15 will read: There will be no trapping or taking of
minnows/shiners or any other forage fish from Lee Reservoir.
Breaking of this rule may result of loss of your membership.
Game
Jerome Jussaume reported that they held an Appreciation Lunch on
February 16th for the Pheasant Committee, Youth Pheasant Hunting Day
workers, and the Game Supper workers. Twenty people attended. They
served chukar and pheasant cacciatore, salad, bread and dessert.
Membership
Pres. Berube reported that as of right now there are 34 openings. He
will have a definite count by the end of the week on how many
openings that there will be. There are 45 people on the waiting
list. The Club will hold a meeting sometime in March for the new
probationary members to attend.
Newsletter
Pres. Berube reported that a few newspapers have been returned
again. They are different from the last month. Addresses have again
been updated. If you’re not getting yours, check with your Post
Office to ensure that your address is correct and that they’re not
returning them for something as simple as a wrong street spelling or
something else. Some of the postmasters are picky.
New Business
Pres. Berube reported on March 22nd from 10AM-2PM a Rabies Clinic
will be held here under the pavilion.
Pres. Berube announced that the 2008 Annual Enfield Shoot would be
held June 28th, at the Uxbridge Rod & Gun Club (the Rifle Range). It
starts at 10AM and the cost will be $10.00 per class of fire on the
day of the shoot or $8.00 for pre-registration per class of fire.
Forms will be left on the cabinet. The classes of fire will be as
follows: 1). Enfield shoot consists of British Enfield 303 (No
Modifications); 2). All other military rifles iron sites only; and
3). Open class any rifle hunting or military; scope or iron sites.
